Some of the most common issues include a blown fuse, bad or damaged wiring, and anti-theft modes that are often triggered when the battery dies. In order to track down the reason that your car radio won't turn on, you'll want to tackle each of these potential issues one at a time. Verify the Unit Isn't in Protect Mode
Big on smartphones. Kenwood's DMX4707S digital multimedia receiver features built-in Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, giving you extensive voice control so you can keep your eyes on the road. Plug in your iPhone® or Android device, and this Kenwood's 6.8" capacitive touchscreen displays the navigation, messaging, and music apps you know so
I did this. I can press SRC to turn it on and off again. It starts up with "Standby" showing. When I press the volume, the screen goes blank. There is a tiny transient "BT" in the lower left of the screen, but this goes away as well. I did read the manual. –
New Kenwood Head Unit Making Noise. I recently swapped out my factory stereo in my 2000 Nissan Xterra for a Kenwood double din. The head unit is the only thing I have replaced, and ever since I installed it, it has been making a high pitched ringing noise through my speakers. It doesn't matter if the input is on tuner, aux, or blue tooth.
Here are common stereo performance problems and their possible causes: Stereo won’t turn on—blown fuse or problem with wiring; Stereo turns off irregularly—power or ground connection problem; Stereo display and sound turn off and on together—head unit isn’t getting enough power; Stereo turns off when driving over a bump or around a

The following steps will help guide you through the most common problems. Remember to always turn off the power to the system and components before connecting or disconnecting cables and wires. Then turn the power back on after each step to check for correct operation. Be sure to leave the volume low, lest you blast your ears once the audio is on.
Knoxville,TN. May 25, 2011. #1. I got brand new Kenwood Kdc-MP445u installed I love it when it worked . Well while back I was driving turned and hit bump at same time the unit went out . So I took it back to wear I got it installed which was American radio in Knoxville,TN they tried three time to fix it with no luck .
Just got the Kenwood DDX9902S head unit installed in my vehicle today but I can't seem to get carplay to launch. Ive checked the settings and carplay is enabled in the radio's settings. Also siri is turned on, on my iPhone. Ive tried different Apple Lightning cables, restarted my phone multiple times, reset the network settings.
Turns out Kenwood's are VERY picky about having ANYTHING written on the USB drive prior to using it for updating. Read that a new blank drive is needed and you may have to try a couple different ones. I chose differently. I did a secure erase on an old USB stick.
The most common reason for a car radio display not working is blown fuse. However, if the fuse is not the problem, car radio display can malfunction due to a faulty dimmer switch, connection issues between the radio and the car’s electrical system, a faulty display unit or its bad connection with the stereo, or a problem with the car’s
